BIG NEWS

1 min read

I've been teasing an announcement for the last couple of weeks and I can finally spill the beans.

Well known MMA fighter Nate "The Rock" Quarry has asked me to do the art chores on his book, Zombie Cage Fighter. It's a hell of a project with a hell of a generous and nice guy. Everything is locked and loaded and we are both extremely excited to get this thing out and in the hands of the masses.

So pumped and jazzed for this opportunity. It could very well set my career a few dozens rungs up from where I am now.

For those Dark Matters fans out there, I'm still on that book as well, so I'm not going anywhere, and you can bet your last dollar that I'll still be doing Galaxy Gator.

Totally stoked that all my years of practice, frustration, despair, highs and lows, brought me to this point.

I, alas, couldn't have gotten this far without the love and support of my friends and family and to Aaron Stewart for helping me kick off this awesome career.

I'm totally feeling it.

Hello all!

I'm opening up commissions for a series of black and white portraits. I have posted a couple to give you an idea of what other folks have asked for.

12X16 sized canvas, black and white, commissions going for $100 US.

Any character, any genre, anything you can think of, in black and white. If I get enough takers, the images may end up as part of an art book that I think will be a fun idea.

Let me know in a private message or email me at heavythehorse@gmail.com if you are interested in getting a portrait for yourself or a loved one. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey all! Heavy is rocking and rearing to go and the only thing holding me back is the necessary funding I need to print and produce the comic.

I'm a single dad, working a forty hour week job with all the responsibilities and finances that come with those things. It leaves me with having only free time to do art, but no real money to get it produced.

So, please, check out my GoFundMe and see if you want to give a little bit to help this dream that has been brewing for just over ten years.

Thanks!!

Hey gang!

Aaron Stewart and I had a great outing this year at Rose City. We sold plenty of books, got a number of returning readers and were able to get a whole bunch of new ones. Very exciting seeing old friends and making new ones.

Aaron and I came up with a great plan for next year! We will be selling little blank, paintable figures of Galaxy Gator. I'm already working on the particulars to get it sculpted, molded and cast. We have a rather sizable sculpture at our table and almost every kid wanted to buy it to bring it home, so we figured that our audience was definitely speaking to us, so we'll listen!

I will also be creating a preview comic of Heavy Horse with the first issue to be available the following con. In this preview comic I'll have a coupon for a $1 or $2 off the first issue if they bring the coupon/book with them. I think this is a great way to get Heavy out there while I'm sill effectively working on the book and creates a good incentive for people to come back and check out the first issue.

Still debating on coloring the book. I'm using a gray tone ink wash to create some good depth, but, I feel that I need to punch it up a bit more with something, and I'm not sure if color is the way to go.

Regardless, things are moving forward and I couldn't be more happy!

Updates as they come in!
